WASHINGTON ELEMENTARY: BOX TOPS ARE GREAT FOR OUR SCHOOL CONTEST

It’s time to show that “Box Tops Are Great” for Washington Elementary. The class that collects the most box tops between, Monday, September 24 and Wednesday, October 24 will win a special treat For additional collection forms, click here. Please be sure to include student name, grade and teacher on all submitted forms. Forms must be turned in by October 24 to count for the contest.

WASHINGTON ELEMENTARY: GRANDPARENTS DAY GRADES 3 AND 4

Grandparents Day for Grades 3 and 4 will be Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 2PM-3PM. Please note that this is for Grade3 and 4 only. The K-2 day will be held Spring, 2019. For more information, click here.

PICKAWAY ELEMENTARY: COSI DAY

On Monday, September 24, The Pickaway PTO sponsored COSI Day at Pickaway Elementary! Students, staff and volunteers enjoyed a fun filled, educational day of activities. Thank you to the PTO and all of the volunteers who made COSI Day possible!






WASHINGTON ELEMENTARY: PROJECT BASED LEARNING

Logan Elm School Board Member Michael Linton and Rane Reeds, both of Accurate, have teamed up with the Washington Elementary 4thGrade to take part in Project Based Learning (PBL). Today, they visited the 4thgrade classes to talk about blueprints for a house and the different types of heating/cooling systems houses may have. The students and teachers were using their minds to challenge themselves and each other.We were excited to welcome our guest speakers and a new way of learning!

SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE

We have been working closely with the Pickaway County Sheriff's Office regarding a message the high school received last night, and it was determined that this message was unsubstantiated.  The District plans to have additional members from the Pickaway County Sheriff's Office on high school campus today as an added measure of security.  We will continue to work closely with the Pickaway County Sheriff's Office to ensure the safety of all students.

LAURELVILLE ELEMENTARY: PICKAWAY COUNTY SOIL AND WATER DISTRICT AND RPHF SOLID WASTE DISTRICT

Thank you to Pickaway County Soil and Water District and RPHF Solid Waste District for coming in to teach 3rd grade at Laurelville more about recycling.  




LAURELVILLE ELEMENTARY: SCIENCE EXPERIMENT

Ms. Blubaugh's class recently completed a science experiment in which students attempted to determine what unknown object was in a container by listening to the sounds made when the container was manipulated. Students were also asked to determine which containers were similar and which were different. The experiment is part of a unit on the Five Senses.
